Colored pencils on wood, about 16” x 24”
Sort of hard to show in photos, but it almost looks like the exposed wood grain glows. The freckles are where I erased away to show the wood underneath.
(Note to self: better to photograph things BEFORE you spray them with shiny sealant…)
Beautiful! I never thought of using colored pencil on wood, but it looks amazing. Do you have to treat it first or anything?

Thanks to Santa’s very busy schedule, we won’t be celebrating Christmas until Friday. #morepreptime #christmas #happyjess
(At least not Christmas dinner…)
Wow! We advertised portraits for Christmas, and we were overwhelmed by the response. We want to give proper time and love and attention to your family portrait, so we are not accepting any new commissions *in time for Christmas*.
Never fear! Santa’s one and only solitary portrait assistant elf has been working around the clock to bring you a beautiful alternative: Order a portrait for Christmas, and we will send you a beautiful (and unique) certificate to give to your loved one for Christmas, promising them a portrait in the New Year. You select the size, the medium, and the number of subjects, and leave the rest to them - and us.
Each customized (and terribly pretty) Christmas package will be mailed to you (or your loved one) in a hand decorated envelope containing one certificate and a beautifully handwritten letter with the message of your choice and a QR code showing an online certificate/receipt for our records (and to show to the internet and brag.
If you order at the last second, we will email you the contents of our Christmas package, and you can print them yourself - no chance of a missed chance!
We hope you’ll enjoy this special holiday deal - a particular bargain since neither the envelope, the certificate, the code, nor the calligraphy is extra. This is because Santa’s elves work for cookies.
You always wanted to know that. We know.
